MUSHROOM TURNOVER


Ingredients:
Pastry:
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup margerine/butter
1 1/2 plain flour
Filling:
1/2 pound mushroom - chopped
1 onion - chopped
2 tbsp butter/ margarine
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 egg
2 tsp water

Method:
1. For Pastry : Beat cream cheese and butter until well combined.
2. Add flour bit by bit and knead it to make a dough.
3. Wrap dough with cling film and keep it in the fridge for 1 hour.
4. For Filling : Heat butter in frying pan.
5. Add mushroom and onion and cook until mushroom become soft.
6. Add sour cream, flour, salt and thyme. Mix until well combined.
7. Remove from stove.
8. Divide the filling equally onto the centre of the pastry.
9. Brush all the edges of the pastry lightly with the egg wash ( egg+ water).
10. Then seal the edges and press the edges with your fingers. Brush the top of the turnovers with egg wash.
11. Bake the turnovers for 25 minutes at 450F .

CRISPY FRIED WONTON





Ingredients :
1/2 pound ground chicken
3 pieces dried shitake ( soak in water until soft and finely chopped )
2 spring onions - finely chopped
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 packet of wonton wrappers

Method
1. Mix all ingredients for filling together and set it aside for an hour
2. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of wonton skin.
3. Wet the four edges of the wrapper with water to seal in the filling. Do the same to the rest.
4. Heat up about one inch of oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the wanton for a few minutes on each side or until golden brown.
5. Remove and drain oil on paper towels.
6. Serve it with sweet chili sauce.

ROTI ARAB.


2 sb mentega
2 sb minyak masak
2 sb gula
300 ml air suam
6 gm yis
500 gm tepung gandum

Cara
1. Mentega, minyak masak dan gula dibancuh dengan air suam. 
2. Gaul tepung dengan yis.
3. Campurkan semua bahan dan uli hingga licin dan kental
4. Perap selama 1 jam dalam bekas. Tutup dengan kain.
5. Selepas 1 jam , uli semula hingga kental.
6. Buat bulat bulat kecil kecil
7. Canaikan nipis .
8. Goreng dalam minyak yang panas.
9. Tunggu hingga roti naik kembung, baru diterbalikkan.

HOME MADE CONEY DOG


This is my home made coney dog. Well... of course the taste definitely is not the same with the famous A&W Coney Dog but we will make do with it as the A&W is not available here and if there is one, definitely we cannot eat it as it is not halal. Anyway hubby loves it and it all matters.

250gm mince beef/chicken
1 ulas bawang putih - chopped
2 biji bawang besar - chopped
2 biji tomato - chopped
1 sudu besar lada hitam
1/2 cawan sos cili
1/2 cawan sos tomato
1 sudu besar rempah kari - optional
oregano
parsley - optional
garam

CHICK PEA


My hubby loves to eat hummous with bread and this is the first thing that he learns to make when he first came here. Hummous is a dipping made from chick pea and other spices and I think it is a Middle Eastern food because we usually had it at Arab Restaurant. It tastes good and I will definitely post it when we make one. Today I just feel like eating boiled chick pea. My late mother use to boil the chickpea and serve it as a snack. During that time, we never had chips or fries or Nachos or Kettle Chips at home. It is too expensive for us to buy. This is the first time I make boiled chickpea and it taste yummy....
